Case study
Healthcare AI Readiness Audit
A guided assessment helping smaller healthcare organizations figure out where AI actually fits — and where it doesn't.
Why this exists
Smaller healthcare organizations are being pitched AI constantly, with no practical way to evaluate whether they’re ready for any of it. The gap isn’t enthusiasm — it’s a structured way to look at their own workflows, data, and staffing before signing anything.
The assessment
A guided assessment that walks a practice through the questions that actually determine readiness: where the workflow bottlenecks are, what shape their data is in, who would own a new tool day to day, and how much operational risk they can absorb. The output is a plain-language readout — practical opportunities, implementation risks, and sequenced next steps.
Design decisions
- Questions a practice manager can answer. No prompts that require an IT department the practice doesn’t have.
- Findings in plain language. A readout the whole practice can read, not a technical report that gets filed.
- “Not yet” is a valid recommendation. An honest assessment has to be able to conclude that the right move is to fix a workflow first — or do nothing.
Status
A concept-stage exercise in healthcare assessment and product design. This page documents the design thinking; if it becomes a working tool, the case study will grow with it.
